Guntur Rowdy sheeter Basavala Bharathi Vasu (39), who was released on bail, was brutally hacked to death allegedly by rival gang members on Sunday night in the busiest streets of Guntur in Arundelpet area. Coincidently, the killing took place just metres away from a local police station.Vasu was coming out of a restaurant after having his dinner when he was attacked by the miscreants.
Vasu who lived in the fourth lane of Vidhyanagar went to Arundelpet 12th line to have his dinner. While he was coming out of the Biriyani Point with Telugu Student Department District chairman Sakiri Naga Chaitanya, a Scorpio vehicle with AP 16 AE 9199 number plate blocked their path. After hacking him over 30 times, the attackers slit his throat to ensure he was dead.

The police believe it to be a planned murder and arrested suspicious culprits and are investigating the crime.
Vasu is close to a former MLA of Guntur and recently came on bail after he was remanded in jail for murder. Police believe it to be a revenge killing.
