Tim Cook, the CEO of Cupertino-based computer behemoth Apple, just ended a ten-year tenure. Cook has taken the firm's performance to the next level in the last decade. Under his leadership, the company's revenue has more than doubled, and its stock has recovered more than 1,100%, putting the market value past $2 trillion.
Cook is getting closer to retirement with each passing year, and while he stated earlier this year in an interview that the "date is not in sight," he did indicate that he will not be heading Apple in 10 years.

Apple is allegedly planning to debut a new product category in 2022, most likely mixed reality headsets. According to various media reports, the Cupertino-based tech behemoth is also working on AR spectacles that may hit the market in the "middle of the decade."  Notably, the AR glasses are supposed to be the final big product category before Tim Cook leaves, as stated earlier this year in a podcast series by the top executive. Apple is also said to be working on an Apple Car, which will be released around the same time as the AR glasses.

There has been speculation that Apple is preparing to join the augmented reality market with an AR headset. They've been around for a long, but the earliest they'll be seen is in 2022. Earlier this year, Apple insider and former KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo predicted that the glasses would be "tricky and expensive to build due to the multi-layered approach to creating novel MR/AR user experiences."
