Israel's military said sirens sounded in the country's north on Friday, hours after Israel launched a wave of strikes on Iran, reports AFP.

It was not immediately clear what triggered the sirens in several communities and areas near the border with Lebanon and the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights.

Iraq filed a complaint on Friday with the United Nations Security Council over Israel's "violation of Iraqi airspace" in a major attack on Iran, Baghdad's foreign ministry said.

"These practices constitute a flagrant violation of Iraq's sovereignty," the ministry said, calling on "the Security Council to assume its responsibilities" and act to "prevent the recurrence of such violations".

Iranian state media has reported that loud blast was heard near airbase in west Iran, reports AFP.

Global airlines on Friday cancelled flights to Tel Aviv, Tehran and other Middle East destinations, or rerouted planes, after Israel's strikes on Iran.

President Masoud Pezeshkian said Friday that Iran will make Israel "regret" its deadly attack which targeted multiple areas including nuclear sites.

"The Iranian nation and the country's officials will not remain silent in the face of this crime, and the legitimate and powerful response of the Islamic Republic of Iran will make the enemy regret its foolish act," Pezeshkian said in a video statement aired on state TV.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards confirmed that its aerospace commander had been killed with fellow officers in an Israeli air strike on their command centre on Friday.

"Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps aerospace force Major General Amirali Hajizadeh... along with a group of brave and dedicated fighters of this force, were martyred" in an Israeli attack on their command centre, the Guards said in a statement.

Iran's communications ministry said Friday that internet restrictions have been introduced nationwide following Israel's wave of strikes.

"Temporary restrictions have been imposed on the country's internet," the ministry said in a statement carried by ISNA news agency, adding that the curbs "will be lifted once the normalcy returns."

The leaders of France, Britain and Germany were set to discuss Israeli strikes on Iran in a call early Friday afternoon, a German government spokesman said.

"The three heads of state and government of France, Britain and Germany will hold a telephone conversation on the subject right now," Chancellor Friedrich Merz's spokesman Stefan Kornelius said at a regular press briefing.

Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation said Friday that most of the damage from Israeli air strikes targeting its underground uranium enrichment facility at Natanz was at ground level.

"Most of the damage is on the surface level," said the organisation's spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi, adding that there had been "no casualties" at the facility where the enrichment centrifuges are housed underground.

US President Donald Trump warned Iran to “just do it” and strike a nuclear deal, hours after Israeli airstrikes killed several of Iran’s top military leaders and nuclear scientists in a dramatic escalation in the Middle East.

Trump also warned Tehran saying that “the next already planned attacks” would be even more brutal if it didn’t agree to a nuclear deal.

Israel's defence ministry said Friday that Israeli air strikes across Iran had "neutralised" most of the senior leadership of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' Air Force.

"The defence minister was informed that most of the Revolutionary Guard Air Force leadership was neutralised while convening at their underground headquarters," the ministry said in a statement.

The Revolutionary Guards are involved in overseeing Iran's airspace and controlling the country’s ballistic missile arsenal.

US President Donald Trump urged Iran on Friday to "make a deal", warning that there will be more "death and destruction" after Israel launched deadly strikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities.

"There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal, come to an end," Trump said on his Truth Social platform.

"Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left... JUST DO IT, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE," he said.

Amid Israel-Iran tensions, German aviation group Lufthansa has suspended its flights to Tehran 'until further notice'.

Israel's military said on Friday the air force was still intercepting drones launched from Iran in response to air strikes on military and nuclear sites, reports AFP.

"The Israeli Air Force continues to operate to intercept unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran toward the State of Israel", the military said, after earlier stating Iran had launched around 100 drones towards Israel.

Israel's attack on multiple areas of Iran, including the capital Tehran, wounded at least 95 people, an emergency services official told state TV.

"So far, 95 people were injured and taken to medical centres in 12 different provinces that were targeted," national emergency services spokesperson Mojtaba Khaledi told state TV.

Lebanese militant group Hezbollah warned Friday that Israel's strikes on its main foreign backer Iran "threaten to ignite the region", reports AFP.

The group, which fought a two-month war with Israel last year, condemned the "brutal Israeli aggression" against Iranian nuclear facilities and scientists and said Israel was "engaging in adventures that threaten to ignite the entire region".

A fresh round of explosions was heard in northwestern Iran on Friday, state television reported, after Israel carried out a wave of strikes on multiple cities, reports AFP.

"A few minutes ago, new explosions were heard in East Azerbaijan," the broadcaster said, as the Tasnim news agency said an earlier wave of strikes had hit 10 sites in the province, killing at least three people.

The Israeli military said it hit the underground uranium enrichment centrifuges at Iran's vast Natanz facility as part of the wave of strikes it carried out on Friday.

"The underground area of the site was damaged. This area contains a multi-storey enrichment hall with centrifuges, electrical rooms and additional supporting infrastructure," the military said in a statement.

Russia on Friday slammed Israeli strikes on its ally Iran's nuclear facilities and military command centres as "unacceptable" and "unprovoked", reports AFP.

"Unprovoked military strikes against a sovereign UN member state, its citizens, peaceful cities and nuclear energy infrastructure are categorically unacceptable," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei swiftly appointed new Revolutionary Guards and armed forces chiefs to replace those killed in targeted Israeli strikes on Friday.

In separate decrees, Khamenei named Mohammad Pakpour to replace Hossein Salami as commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and Abdolrahim Mousavi to replace Mohammad Bagheri as chief of the armed forces general staff.

Iran has said Israel's deady strikes on its military and nuclear facilities on Friday were a "declaration of war" and called on the UN Security Council to act, reports AFP.

In a letter to the United Nations, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi described the attack as a "declaration of war" and "called on the Security Council to immediately address this issue", the ministry said.

Israel struck the Natanz uranium enrichment facility multiple times, as reported by Iranian state television. Prime Minister Netanyahu confirmed the site was among the targets. Natanz, a critical component of Iran’s nuclear program, houses centrifuges operating both above and below ground. According to Iranian TV, the nuclear facility at Natanz has been destroyed by Israel.

Ali Shamkhani, a senior advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was critically injured in an Israeli strike targeting his residence, according to Nour News, a media outlet affiliated with Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. He has been moved to a hospital in Tehran and remains in critical condition.

The Kremlin on Friday condemned and expressed concern over what it called a "sharp escalation" between Israel and Iran, Russian state media reported.

"Russia is concerned and condemns the sharp escalation of tensions," spokesman Dmitry Peskov told state news agencies.

The Russian embassy in Tel Aviv also urged Russians in Israel to leave the country if they could and said it "strongly recommends" against travelling there until the "situation normalises."

The African Union (AU) expressed grave concern on Friday after Israel struck some 100 targets in Iran, including Tehran's nuclear and military sites.

The AU chair, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, "expresses grave concern over reports of an Israeli airstrike on Iran and the ensuing escalation of hostilities in the Middle East," it said in a statement.

"The Chairperson calls for the immediate cessation of hostilities and urges all parties to exercise maximum restraint. He pointed out that the current developments pose a serious threat to international peace and security," it added.

Afghanistan's Taliban authorities on Friday condemned a wave of Israeli strikes on Iran, saying the attacks violated international law and fuelled regional insecurity.

The strikes, which left key military commanders and nuclear scientists dead, "constitute a clear violation of the fundamental principles of international law, particularly national sovereignty", Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid posted in a statement on X.

"The continuation of such tension-provoking actions has made the situation in the region even more fragile and worrying," he wrote.

Iran sharply criticised the UN nuclear watchdog on Friday, accusing it of "silence" over Israel's strikes on its nuclear facilities and scientists.

In a statement, Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation said it considers the "silence" from the International Atomic Energy Agency "as a form of cooperation with the Zionist regime," adding that the Israeli attack was a "defeat for the IAEA resulting from its unjustifiable shortcomings".

UN nuclear watchdog head Rafael Grossi said on Friday that nuclear facilities "must never be attacked" and called "on all parties to exercise maximum restraint to avoid further escalation" following Israeli strikes on Iran.

"This development is deeply concerning... I reiterate that any military action that jeopardizes the safety and security of nuclear facilities risks grave consequences for the people of Iran, the region, and beyond," Grossi, who heads the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said in a statement to board members.

The Czech foreign minister said Friday that Israeli strikes on Iran were a reasonable response given Tehran's nuclear ambitions and support for groups seeking to destroy Israel.

Iran "is supporting so many players, including the Hezbollah and Hamas movements, with the intention to destroy the state of Israel, and also seeking a nuclear bomb," Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky told reporters in Prague.

"And I see that this was a reasonable reaction from the state of Israel towards a possible threat of a nuclear bomb," he added.

"I have a great deal of understanding for, let's say, military action aimed at preventing the production of a nuclear bomb in the region," he said.

"Iran has long failed to fulfil its obligations to the international community, is building up its nuclear programme and, at the same time, uses rhetoric aimed at destroying the state of Israel," he added.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Friday urged both Israel and Iran to avoid any "further escalation" after Israel launched a wave of strikes on the Islamic republic.

Both sides should refrain from steps that could "destabilise the entire region," said Merz, adding that he had been briefed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the raids and had convened a meeting of Germany's security cabinet.

The Israeli military said on Friday that the intelligence it had gathered showed Iran was approaching the "point of no return" on its nuclear programme.

"In recent months, accumulated intelligence information has provided evidence that the Iranian regime is approaching the point of no return," it said in a statement.

"The convergence of the Iranian regime's efforts to produce thousands of kilogrammes of enriched uranium, alongside decentralised and fortified enrichment compounds in underground facilities, enables the Iranian regime to enrich uranium to military-grade levels, enabling the regime to obtain a nuclear weapon within a short period of time," it added.

Iranian authorities said that nuclear sites at Fordow and Isfahan have not been hit in Israel strikes, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency said on Friday.

"Further contacts with Iranian authorities confirm that the Isfahan nuclear site has not been impacted," the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, wrote on X, adding that "as of now, the Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant has not been impacted."

Pakistan, the only Islamic country with nuclear weapons, "strongly condemned" on Friday a wave of Israeli strikes on its neighbour Iran.

"Strongly condemn unjustified Israeli attacks on Islamic republic of Iran," Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar wrote on X.

He said Pakistan, which does not recognise Israel, "stands in solidarity with the Government & the people of Iran".

Oil prices soared more than 12 percent and stocks sank Friday after Israel launched strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites and warned of more to come, stoking fears of a full-blown war.

Investors ran for the hills on news of the attacks and a warning from Tehran that its regional foe faced a "bitter and painful" fate, while US President Donald Trump has said a "massive conflict" in the region was possible.

China said it was "deeply concerned" over Israeli strikes on Iran -- including nuclear and military sites -- condemning "violations" of the country's sovereignty and offering to help ease tensions.

"The Chinese side... is deeply worried about the severe consequences that such actions might bring," foreign ministry spokesman Lin Jian said.

"The Chinese side calls on relevant parties to take actions that promote regional peace and stability and to avoid further escalation of tensions," Lin said.

Defence Minister Israel Katz warned that Israel would "eliminate" its foes after it carried out air strikes on Iran targeting military and nuclear sites.

"The precise targeting of senior commanders of the Revolutionary Guards, the Iranian military, and nuclear scientists -- all of whom were involved in advancing the plan to destroy Israel -- sends a strong and clear message: those who work toward Israel's destruction will be eliminated," Katz said in a statement.

He further warned that Iran "will pay an increasingly heavy price the longer it continues its aggressive actions" against Israel.

France's foreign minister on Friday urged restraint after Israel pounded Iran in a series of air raids, striking 100 targets including nuclear and military sites as well as killing the armed forces' chief of staff.

"We call on all sides to exercise restraint and avoid any escalation that could undermine regional stability," Jean-Noel Barrot said on X.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Friday said it was "crucial" for allies of Israel to work to de-escalate tensions, after Israel struck some 100 targets in Iran, including Tehran's nuclear and military sites.

"I think it is now crucial for many allies, including the United States, to work, as we speak, to de-escalate. I know that they are doing that and I think that is now the first order of the day," Rutte told reporters at a press conference in Stockholm, noting it was a "unilateral" action by Israel.
