Mock drill: Train derails at Bengaluru station; NDRF personnel rescue stranded passengers

Bengaluru: A team of Regional Response Centre of 10th BN National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted a mock exercise for rescue operations during a train accident at Bengaluru Railway Station. The accident spot depicted a derailed train with commuters stranding inside. The NDRF team rushed into action by cutting the coach windows and roof to bring passengers out to safety. Doctors and paramedical staff were stationed outside to administer medical aid to the injured. At least 35 staff from NDRF, 25 personnel from Fire and Emergency Services, 50 persons each from the Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force, 30 personnel from the Railway Safety wing, 75 from the Railway Mechanical Wing, 30 persons each from Railways Communication department and Railway Bomb Detection Disposal Squads, including 10 media persons and 500 public were involved in the mock drill.
