Bengaluru: Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) commissioner Manjunath Prasad has announced that Mount Carmel College has been chosen as one of the centres for counting of votes in Bengaluru. Vehicles entering the premises will be stopped 100 meters away from the college campus. Mobile phones, bags are banned and none without the official ID will be allowed to enter the premises. Except for officials deployed on duty and the media, no one else will be allowed to enter the college premises on May 23 when results of the Lok Sabha election are expected. The counting officials will report at 5 am and counting of postal votes will start at 8 am. Counting of votes from EVM machines will be completed by 12 pm and then these votes will be matched with the details on VVPAT. Tight security has been provided at the college campus.
