Bengaluru: Days after a protest was called off to prevent the garbage trucks from dumping Bengaluru city's garbage at Yelahanka's Belahalli, Jakkur corporator among others decided not to allow garbage trucks into the quarry.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) had earlier promised to dump the garbage scientifically by taking steps to decompose the trash, but failed to continue and began unloading the city's waste and covering them up with soil.

Speaking to Asianet Newsable, BJP MLA Vishwanath lashed out at the BBMP officials for their negligence for not thinking about people facing problems in the coming future due to the officials' carelessness. He also spoke about the garbage contaminating the underground water.

Will the BBMP look into this matter and take this issue to fix the problem or are they proud enough to give another title to Garden City as ‘Garbage City’?
