Video is the future, believes Twitter

Synopsis

Twitterati can rejoice as the popular social media giant made a few changes for the convenience of its users.

In a bid to reinvent itself, Twitter has extended its video limit to 140 seconds from the current 30-second limit. With videos being the future, Twitter has joined the 'video-friendly' social media group, including Facebook, Snapchat, and YouTube.

This update, currently live on mobile phones, will be soon made available for Mac and Windows. Twitter has explained the process of sharing and watching longer videos on its help center page.

Twitter will also be launching a full-screen video viewing experience for its Android and iOS users. Tap on a video Tweet or Vine on your timeline and it will take you to a full-screen mode.

Twitter will also be releasing a new app, Engage, to help video creators widen their reach with real-time data and insights. In a blogpost, Twitter has highlighted the features of the new app that aims to help its users better understand their network and also track the performance of their tweets.
