The hashtag '#SaveTwitter' took the Internet by a storm on Thursday after the rumours of the micro-blogging website, Twitter, being shut down forever started to float.
Twitter was accused of failing to tackle the 'abusive' content on the website. The allegations of Twitter not being able to maintain the right balance between free speech/expression and blocking abusive/violent content led to the emergence of hashtag '#SaveTwitter'.
However, Twitter was prompt to react on the issue and said in an official statement that, the news website shutting down was a hoax.
