Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninong Ering has sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking to ban PUBG India's new avatar, Battlegrounds Mobile game has been deceiving the government.
Ering said, as reported in Gadgets 360, "This is a mere illusion and a trick to relaunch the same game with minor modifications and collect user data of millions of our citizens, including our children and transfer it to foreign companies and the Chinese government." Ering sent a copy of this on his Twitter account.
The launch date of Battlegrounds Mobile India is yet to announce. Further, MLA said, "Krafton has very close ties with Tencent and is now also an investor in Nodwin which works very closely with Tencent". According to him, PUBG Battlegrounds 'is simply a relaunch of PUBG Mobile', which was banned last year, in September.
He said, "The gameplay features and other aspects will be the same. Krafton has also added maps from PUBG in the relaunched game and the weapons will also be the same with just new names." He believes Tencent will reenter India with the renamed game plan.
He also mentioned the game's privacy policy that has stated it will store its data in India and Singapore. Still, it will also be transferred to a different location as per requirement.
He said, "The launch announcement is also timed with the launch of Krafton's IPO, from which Tencent will directly benefit." Ering fears that if PUBG Mobile reenters, then TikTok and WeChat will also invade our country, risking the lives of the users again.
