Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami condoled the death of three persons killed in a wall collapse in Nagappatinam district and announced a sum of Rs five lakh to a seven-year-old survivor.

Palaniswami said he had directed that a sum of Rs five lakh be deposited in the Tamil Nadu Power Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited as relief for the seven-year-old daughter of the couple killed in the wall collapse.

Monthly interest from the sum would be used for the child's expenses, he said in a statement.

Three members of the family were killed when the wall of their house at Thiruvavaduthurai village collapsed due to heavy rains.

The victims were sleeping when the wall collapsed all of a sudden. The girl has suffered serious injuries.
