Watch: Team India gets into festive mood before 2nd Test

Synopsis

Team India celebrated Amit Mishra's birthday on the eve of Mohali Test. Indian team went 1-0 up after beating England by 246 runs in the 2nd Test. The third Test is currently underway in Mohali.

Although they were a day late, Virat Kohli-led side ensured Amit Mishra received the traditional cake treatment when the spinner turned 34 on Thursday. The celebrations took place at the team hotel on the eve of the third Test in Mohali.

After Mishra cut the cake, it was Ishant Sharma who began the fun by sticking a cherry on the birthday boy's forehead. That was followed by Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul and others smashing the cake on Misha's face.

This birthday tradition has been followed for a very long time in the Indian dressing room; not a single person is spared. The Indian Test skipper, Kohli celebrated his birthday on November 5, who got just the same treatment.

After two Tests, India leads England 1-0 in the ongoing five-Test series. The third Test in Mohali is in progress with England batting first.

The Indian bowling attack have so far done a great job. England's toss win sadly went against them as the likes of Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Jayant Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin bagged a wicket each.

They have reduced the visitors to 92 for 4 at lunch on the opening day of the Mohali Test.
