Watch: Kohli gets back at Stokes, shuts him up

Synopsis

The battle between Stokes and Kohli began on the opening day of the Mohali Test. However, it was Kohli who seemed to have had the last laugh. The incident happened when Stokes was dismissed just before stumps of Day 3.

However, it is the Indian Test skipper who had the last laugh when Stokes was dismissed just before stumps on Day three.

It was the first ball of the 37th over, bowled by Ravichandran Ashwin. The Indian team appealed loudly as the confident faces were convinced that Ashwin had trapped Stokes leg before wicket. Kohli immediately reviewed, and the result went India's way.

Meanwhile, Kohli chose to give Stokes a special send off with a 'finger on the lips' gesture. (This surely has rested the case, Kohli is the winner, hands down!)

It all started on the opening day of the Test when Parthiv Patel stumped Stokes of Jadeja's bowling. The visiting batsman was hopeful of a front-foot no ball.

When Kohli asked Stokes to go back, that led to an exchange of heated words. The on-field umpire had to step in to control the situation.

It was Stokes' turn to get back at Kohli, and he got an opportunity the very next day. Kohli was caught behind off Stokes' bowling. The all-rounder celebrated the wicket by placing his hands over his mouth.
