Unstoppable Andy Murray reaches the zenith of ATP rankings

Synopsis

Andy Murray has won eight titles in 10 competitions in 2016. Murray was trailing Djokovic by 8000 points in the ATP rankings which is equivalent to the points after four grand slam wins.

Do any of you remember the Australian Open 2016 Final, where Andy Murray was thrashed by none other than Novak Djokovic? Does it ring a bell? No? Let me just take you down the memory lane. This is the journey of a star, who climbed the zenith of the world rankings in a span of 10 months. He goes by the name of Andy Barron Murray.

Murray claimed his maiden ATP World Tours Final Trophy after routing Djokovic. Murray has been in the top of his form in 2016 and without any doubt the 29-year-old British tennis star is hungry for more.

Every final he has won in 2016, the odds were heavily piled up against Murray but he overturned them all with consummate ease.

The last time Murray climbed to the top of the ATP rankings was way back in 2000 in Lisbon and here he is again, right at the top but now he is a much better and a stronger athlete than he was back then.

To add to your surprise, Murray was trailing the Djoker by a massive margin of 8000 points in the ATP rankings in June. After Roland Garros 2016, Murray added these trophies in his personal cabinet to topple the Djoker from the top of the rankings - Wimbledon, Olympic gold medal, two Masters 1000 trophies and finally, the ATP Finals.
