Synopsis

Christian Eriksen is a midfielder who plays for Denmark and Inter Milan. He collapsed during Denmark’s UEFA Euro 2020 tie against Finland as the medical team attended him before being stretchered out. The play has been suspended indefinitely.

In what comes as shocking news for football fans, Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed during his side’s clash against Finland in the 2020 UEFA Euro at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen on Saturday. Although his condition is unknown yet, he appeared to be stable.

It all happened just moments before the half-time whistle, as the Inter Milan player seemingly collapsed by the touchline and became unresponsive. He was immediately attended by his teammates, along with the Finland players, as the medical team rushed in, while a few of his teammates were even in tears.

According to reports, the medical team performed Cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Eriksen. During this time, his teammates surrounded him in a circle, giving him some privacy. In the meantime, he was stretchered off the field 15 minutes later, while he appeared to be awake and stable.

The fans at the Parken Stadium are traditionally known to be rowdy. However, following the incident, it all went quiet, while they cheered for him as he was being stretchered out.
