Tokyo Paralympics 2020: Shuttler Krishna Nagar clinches India's 5th gold medal in badminton SH6 event

Indian ace para shuttler Krishna Nagar secured India's 5th gold medal in the final of the men’s singles badminton SH6 event by defeating Hong Kong's Man Kai Chu in the final.

Nagar defeated Kai Chu 21-17, 16-21, 21-17 in three games after a thrilling battle in the final as both shuttlers displayed their skills and were on top of their game at the grandest stage of them all.

India extended its medal tally to 19 at the Paralympic Games and now has five gold, eight silver and six bronze medals to be placed 24th.

Earlier, another India para-shuttler Suhas Yathiraj bagged a silver medal after losing to France's Lucas Mazur in a thriller of a final on Sunday morning. The former also became the only IAS officer to have not only participated but also won a medal in the Paralympics.
