Tokyo Olympics: Rowers Jat and Arvind fail to secure lightweight double sculls final qualification

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics has had a limited show from the Indian rowers as well. The duo of Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh failed to secure their qualification in the final of the lightweight double sculls.

India's limited outing in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics continued even in the rowing section. It was ousted in the lightweight double sculls, with the pair of Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh failing to secure the final berth.

In the semis of the event, the pair clocked 6:24.41, finishing at the bottom of the six-team event. Only the top three teams manage to qualify for the final from each semis event.

It is to be noted that their semis qualification was India's best to date by the rowers in Olympic history. With this loss, India is set to finish within the top-12 of the event.

While Arjun handles the duties of the bower, Arvind happens to be the stroker. The duo had finished fifth during the heats on Saturday.
