Reigning world number one men's tennis star and modern-day great, Novak Djokovic of Serbia has travelled to the land of the rising sun, as he touched down Tokyo ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, starting Friday. He will be competing in men's singles and is a top contender to win the gold medal.
Although he would have competitions from Russia's Danil Medvedev and Greece's Stefanos Tsitsipas, he is expected to edge past, with the momentum on the Serbian's side. Also, having already won three Grand Slams this year, he would be eyeing the gold in a bid for the Golden Slam, provided he wins the upcoming US Open as well. If he does so, he will become the first male player in tennis history to do a Calendar Golden Slam, with the other being Germany's Steffi Graff.
