Thierry Henry fires warning at PSG post Lionel Messi signing

Meanwhile, former French superstar Thierry Henry has fired a warning at PSG. He has stated that while Messi's signing indeed bolsters the squad, club head coach Mauricio Pochettino needs to find the right balance with the side and the Argentine to gain long-term success.

Speaking to Amazon Prime Video, Henry stated that while everyone talks about the best players, their attack and advance, the balance plays an important role. He also reminded that while he played in Barca alongside Messi and Samuel Eto'o, they also did not concede many goals besides scoring. Thus, this quality can make any side a top contender for the UEFA Champions League.

Henry also added that while Messi's addition to PSG makes it a formidable side in scoring goals, its tendency to concede is concerning. Although the side is missing some players, which is valid to some extent, it still needs to find the right balance to maintain consistency in both attacking and defending.

While Messi is expected to make his debut by the end of the month or early next month, the future of PSG's star striker Kylian Mbappe remains uncertain. The latter's contract ends following the season end, and he is yet to renew it, as reports suggest that he is looking to sign for Real Madrid.
