South Africa’s captain AB de Villiers played a winning knock of 85 runs and smashed quite a few records in the meanwhile. He secured his record with a brilliant four he played off New Zealand’s Lockie Ferguson.
The Proteas player was just 87 short of the record and a 37-not out and a 45-runs score in the previous two matches edged him closer. The South African right-handed batsman finally made the record his own in the third.
