IPL 2025, RR vs KKR highlights: Quinton de Kock shines as Knight Riders won by 8 wickets

Riyan Parag: 170 was going to be a really good score, that's what we were aiming for. I personally rushed a little bit knowing the wicket here. Fell short by 20 runs. That was the plan, to get Quinny out early, but that didn't happen. He played really well, kudos to him. Last year, the team wanted me to bat at four, I was happy with that. This year, they want me to bat at three, I should be a professional. We are doing well in small phases. We take the learning, we'll come to Chennai with a fresh mindset.

Quinton de Kock smashed 16 runs off Jofra Archer in the 18th over to help KKR chase down 152-run target with 15 balls to spare. When 5 runs required off 16 balls, de Kock hit a six towards long-on to take the team over the line. The opener played a brilliant innings of 97 off 61 balls while forming an 83-run stand with Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who scored a valuable 22 off 17 balls, for the third wicket.

Maheesh Theekshana bowled the ball down the leg side. Wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel couldn't reach it, and it rolled away for five wides.KKR need 17 runs off 18 balls.

Quintonde Kock has been given out LBW, but he decided to take DRS as he thought the ball was too high. The umpire took a long time to raise his finger, almost after the RR players had stopped appealing. There was no bat involved, and the ball hit de Kock on the knee. Ball tracking shows it would have missed leg stump. NOT OUT!

KKR need 82 off 60 balls to win

Rajasthan Royals posted a total 151/9 despite early collapse in their batting. Dhruv Jurel top scored with 33 off 28 balls, while Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 29. For Kolkata Knight Riders, Varun Chakravarthy, Moeen Ali, Harshit Rana, and Vaibhav Arora picked two wickets each. KKR need 152 runs off 120 balls to win.

Dhruv Jurel is at the crease and he remains the key for RR, alongside Shimrom Hetmyer, for a big finish.

WICKET! Vaibhav Arora bowled a short delivery outside off. Shubham Dubey tried to slash it for a six, but the shot lacked elevation. The ball went straight to deep backward point, where Andre Russell took an easy catch.

WICKET! Moeen Ali saw Nitish Rana moving outside the leg stump and bowled a slower delivery. The ball spun sharply from a good length on middle stump. Rana tried to tap it away but missed, and the ball hit the midde stump.

WICKET! The ball skidded off the pitch quickly, surprising Hasaranga. He went on the back foot to play a pull shot off Varun Chakravarthy, but the ball came faster than he expected. It hit the outside half of his bat and popped up for an easy catch at extra cover. Hasaranga thought the ball was short, but it came off the pitch much quicker than he anticipated.

WICKET! Jaiswal stepped down the pitch, tried to hit a big shot off Moeen Ali. However, he did not quite reach the ball and ended up hitting it off the inside half of his bat. The ball went straight to the fielder at long-on, and Harshit takes a comfortable catch.

WICKET! Varun Chakravarthy gets the big wicket of Riyan Parag. Parag tried to loft a length delivery outside off from Chakravarthy, but the ball hit the toe of his bat and went straight up. de Kock called for the catch early, got under the skier, and took it near the pitch.

WICKET! Sanju Samson came down the track for a shot off Vaibhav Arora's full angling in delivery. However, Samson's bat failed to make contact with the bowl and the ball crashed into the stumps.

Ajinkya Rahane: We'll look to bowl first. The wicket looks really good. If we bowl first, we'll get an idea how this wicket is. Dew factor is huge here. It's about staying positive, this format is all about being fearless, playing with intent. We played very good cricket, T20 is all about giving your best each and every day. We are looking forward to this game. We learnt a lot from the last game. We want to stay in the moment. I don't look at the stars that much, for me, it's all about contributing. Sunil Narine misses out, he's not well. Moeen Ali comes in.

Riyan Parag: Very proud, very humbled to be leading a franchise like this. I started when I was 17 years old. The management has shown faith in me, it's something I can't really put in words. A lot of positives from the last game. The middle-order really stepped up. A lot of positives with the ball as well. One change. Hasaranga comes in, Farooqi steps out.

Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and opted to bowl first against Rajasthan Royals in the 6th match of the IPL 2025.

Former England all-rounder Moeen Ali is set to make his IPL debut for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2025.

The pitch at Barsapara Cricket Stadium is expected to be batting-friendly and thus, the team batting first will look to put up a huge total on the board. Pacers are likely to get some assistance early in the game, but the bowlers might face tough as the dew-factor will come into play in the second innings.
