RIP Amma: Will Chennai host India vs England Test?

The fifth Test between India and England is scheduled to be played in Chennai. The city might not be in a position to host a Test after its CM's death. Jayalalitha passed away on Monday after a Cardiac arrest.

While the government declared an off on Tuesday for its offices, the educational institutions have been given three days holidays as a mark of respect to the departed leader.

Amma, this is what Jayalalitha was called across Chennai and rest of the country, was a huge figure and her death will surely be mourned for a very long time.

Keeping in mind the intense situation in the city, there is still no positive news if the fifth Test between India and England, which is scheduled to be played in Chennai from December 16.

Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) had commenced the tickets sale for the Chennai Test from November 29. The state association is hoping for a huge crowd turning up for the Test for two reasons - India's excellent form at present, and it is the first Test the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium will host since 2013.

BCCI, on the other hand, is yet to decide if Chennai will be in a position to host a Test or they will have to relocate the venue.
