ONE Championship: Ritu Phogat demands to be put on Grand Prix

Synopsis

Ritu Phogat is on a fast rise in the mixed martial art category, as she has a streak of 5-1 so far. Following her win over Lin Heqin, she demands to be put back in the Grand Prix.

Indian wrestler and Mixed Martial Artist Ritu Phogat continues her dominating rise in the MMA category. She is coming off a win over Lin Heqin at the ONE Championship: Battleground event on July 30.

Following the win, she has extended her MMA streak to 5-1. Meanwhile, she has also urged the promotion to put her name back in the Grand Prix, as she feels she deserves to be in it following her recent wins.

“I beat Bi [Nguyen], and also now I beat [Lin] Heqin. So, Mr Chatri [Sityodtong], put my name back in the Grand Prix because I deserve it,” she said in a video posted by ONE Championship.

Although Phogat beat Heqin, she had narrowly lost to Nguyen in May. However, the Indian feels that regardless of the result, she won the clash.

Consequently, she has the feeling that she deserves to be in the Grand Prix, which is likely to commence from September 3 at the ONE CHAMPIONSHIP: EMPOWER event. However, it remains to be seen if the promotion indeed puts her name in the GP.
