Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy’s may not be an automatic starter in England's playing XI at the upcoming Euro 2016, manager Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said.
Vardy, 29, has netted thrice in seven internationals and was joint second-highest scorer in Leicester's triumphant EPL campaign this past season.
He was also named the Football Writers’ Association player of the year.
“I don’t think that he will be a starter. I don’t say this because he does not have the quality, but because he doesn’t have enough experience at that level to say the whole tournament will depend on Vardy,” Wenger was quoted as saying by beIN Sports.
The Euro 2016 begins in France on Friday with England opening their campaign in Group B against Russia on Saturday, before going on to play Wales and Slovakia.
