Synopsis

Suruchi Singh clinched gold and Esha Singh secured silver as India celebrated a one-two finish in the women's 10m air pistol at the ISSF World Cup in Munich. Suruchi's win also earned her a spot in the ISSF World Cup Final.

India celebrated a memorable one-two finish in the women's 10m air pistol event at the ISSF World Cup 2026 in Munich, with Suruchi Singh clinching gold and Esha Singh securing silver on Friday.

Stellar Performance in the Final

Suruchi, who won three individual ISSF World Cup gold medals last season, once again showcased her composure under pressure, topping the podium with 242.1 points after a superb display in the elimination rounds, as per Olympics.com.

The gold medal marked Suruchi Singh's seventh medal at the ISSF World Cup circuit, adding to an impressive resume that already includes an individual gold at the ISSF World Cup Final in Doha last year. Friday's triumph also secured the 20-year-old a direct qualification berth for this year's ISSF World Cup Final, scheduled to be held in Rome in December.

Meanwhile, Esha Singh claimed silver with 241.2 points, finishing less than a point behind her compatriot in a closely contested final. The reigning Asian champion continued her impressive run in Munich after winning the women's 25m pistol title earlier this week with a world record score.

Choo Gaeun of South Korea secured the bronze medal with 220.2 points. The final also featured Celine Goberville, the silver medallist at the London 2012 Olympics, who finished sixth with 158.6 points.

How the Shooters Qualified

In the qualification round, Muskan was the highest-placed Indian, finishing sixth with a score of 579-16x while competing under Ranking Points Only (RPO). Suruchi Singh and Esha Singh qualified eighth and ninth, respectively, both registering identical scores of 578.

Meanwhile, Manu Bhaker finished 20th with 575-17x to miss her second successive final in Munich. She will next compete in the 10m air pistol mixed team event. (ANI)
