IPL 2025, SRH vs RR LIVE updates: Ishan Kishan shines with ton as SRH win by 44 runs

Sunrisers Hyderabad (286/6) kicked off their campaign with a 44-run win over Rajasthan Royals (241/6) despite half-centuries by Sanju Samson (66) and Dhruv Jurel (70). Ishan Kishan was the star performer of the match for his brilliant unbeaten 106-run knock.

WICKET! Harshal Patel bowls a short ball from around the wicket. Shimron Hetmyer tries to pull but mistimes it, hitting the ball off the bottom of his bat. The long-off fielder runs in and takes a safe catch.

Scores: RR - 241/6 in 19.5 overs

The chances of RR chasing down a mammoth 286-run target, but they are not giving up without a good fight. After quick wickets of Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer and Shubham Dube sailed the team's ship and took the past 200-run mark. 

Scores: SRH - 217/5 after 18 overs

Next to go was Dhruv Jurel who hit a sensational knock of 70 in 35 balls. Now, both set batters are in pavilion.

After playing a sensational knock, Sanju Samson (66 in 37 balls) was dismissed, thereby putting an end to a 111-run partnership with Dhruv Jurel.

After losing 3 wickets, RR players Sanju Samson (55 in 32 balls) and Dhruv Jurel (55 in 28 balls) have staged a fightback.

Things aren't looking nice for Nitish Rana as he is dismissed.

Chasing a mammoth target, RR has lot two early wickets, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag.

RR has a mountain to climb as SRH piled up 286 runs in 20 overs. At some point, they looked on course to hit 300 but RR did some damage control in the final over. A 250+ score is a dream for most teams but SRH made it look like a cakewalk. 

Amid an onslaught from SRH batters, RR has managed to pick 2 quick wickets in the last over. Aniket Verma and Abhinav Manohar are back in the pavilion.

Ishan Kishan has scored a sensational century in his debut match for SRH. He achieved the feat in just 45 balls.

Heinrich Klaasen has been caught at long-on as tried to clear Sandeep Sharma for a six.

SRH has put on a thunderous batting display and went beyond 250 with 2 overs to go. Ishan Kishan is well set to mark his SRH debute with a century.

Nitish Reddy is caught at deep mid by Jaiswal off Theekshana's delivery.

200 is up for SRH and it came in the first ball of the 15th over. They are poised for a very big score.

In another quick-fire innings, Ishan Kishan has scored a fifty on his debut for SRH.

Travis Head is gone after scoring 67 off 31 balls as Tushar Deshpande celebrates a big wicket.

Travis Head looks in terrific touch as scored 50 in just 21 balls.

SRH is off to a flying start against RR with Travis Head leading the way. They only lost the wicket of Abhishek Sharma 24(11) and Ishan Kishan kept the momentum after coming at number 3.

Score: SRH is 94/1 after 6 overs.

A bit of luck to dismiss Abhishek Sharma after he slashed a delvery that went wide outside off. Jaiswal takes a neat catch to his right from point. 

Scores: SRH is 55/1 after 4 overs.

Abhishek Sharma hit the first four of the match as an attempted yorker eneded as a low full toss and he dispatched it away to the left of mid-on.

Pat Cummins: It is great to be back. The core of the group is the same, the coaching staff is the same. Don't think batting or bowling first matters. It is pretty hot, so don't mind bowling second. Would be nice to keep last season's form going. We always encourage our games to play with freedom. Abhi and Heady with hopefully continue from last year, and Nitish and Klassen are there as well. Ishan Kishan and Abhinav Manohar will be making their debuts.

Riyan Parag: Bowling first. Looks like a dry wicket so we'll have a crack at it later. (On captaincy) Means a lot, started here as a 17 year old. Getting to fill in big shoes, very excited. The impact rule helps with Sanju. We've retained a lot of our core so that helps with the batting order. The other three overseas will be Theekshana, Jofra and Farooqi. Always good to start well, we have practiced a lot.
