India vs Cambodia: 5 things you need to know

Synopsis

India have never won an away game after 2006. The last time they had won an international away fixture, they had defeated Pakistan 1-0.

India will be taking on Cambodia in a friendly fixture at Phnom Penh on Wednesday. This is a very important fixture for the Blue Tigers as they will face Myanmar in the AFC Cup pre-qualifiers after this game.

Sunil Chhetri and co. are returning to action and the Indian football fans can expect a fully fit side against Cambodia on Wednesday.

"It is a very important match for us ahead of the crucial match against Myanmar in the AFC Cup Qualifiers. I thank AIFF for arranging the same. There are 4-5 players who are carrying slight niggles so I haven't yet decided on the starting XI. Let me see what suits us best. The weather conditions in Phnom Penh are quite similar to that in Yangon and it will be a good test for us," India football team manager Stephen Constantine said ahead of the fixture.

Here are five things that you need to know about this clash:

## India have never won an away game after 2006. The last time they had won an international away fixture, they had defeated Pakistan 1-0.

## This is Blue Tigers’ first game since they trumped higher-ranked Puerto Rico 4-1 at home in September 2016.

## Jerry Larlinzuala, Milan Singh, Nishu Kumar, Daniel Lalhlimpuia and Anas Edathodika are likely to make their international debuts against Cambodia. Robin Singh and Sunil Chhetri will play up front.

## Cambodia have lost their last five international fixtures and India can capitalise on that.

## This match will be played on the artificial turf and that is not something Indian footballers did not want to play on.
