Happy Birthday Sachin Tendulkar: Remembering the Desert Storm (video)

Sachin Tendulkar is celebrating his 44th birthday today.  The master of the game retired 4 years ago from international cricket. 

"What a player! What a wonderful player!" commentator Tony Greig had said during Sachin Tendulkar's 'Desert Storm' innings in Sharjah. He was indeed beyond wonderful as he slowly became an emotion for billions of fans all across the globe. The Little Master is celebrating his 44th birthday today and we could not get happier. 

Sachin Tendulkar retired from the international cricket in November 2013. He played his last Test match against West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium and it still gives us goosebumps every time we see highlights of that moment when he walked out of the ground for one last time.

The Master Blaster gave us hundreds of fond moments in the past but one of the most special of all was the Desert Storm innings against Australia in Sharjah way back in 1998. The Australians faced the wrath of Tendulkar and that knock had put India into the final of the tournament.

Tendulkar scored 142 from 131 balls but was unhappy with the fact that he could not take India over the line. But he made sure in the final that India lifts the trophy with yet another scintillating knock of 134 runs.
