Tennis legend Roger Federer scripted an epic come-from-behind win over Croat Marin Cilic to enter the semifinals of the 2016 Wimbledon championship on Thursday.
The seven-time champion at the All England Club found himself trailing by two sets to love before he kicked into action, and emerged victorious in a gruelling contest that ended 6-7 (4-6), 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (11-9), 6-3 in three hours and 17 minutes.
Federer will meet Canadian Milos Raonic in the semifinal. Raonic overcame American Sam Querry, who had earlier shocked World No.1 Novak Djokovic in the third round, in their quarterfinal in four tight sets 6-4, 7-5, 5-7, 6-4, in two hours and 31 minutes.
Briton Andy Murray, meanwhile, ousted Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, in five sets after having won the first two. Murray's topsy-turvy 7-6 (12-10) 6-1 3-6 4-6 6-1 victory earned him a semifinal date with Czech Tomas Berdych, the 2010 runner-up.
Berdych defeated France's Lucas Pouille 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 6-2 in their quarterfinal on Wednesday.
