Probably two of the greatest sportspersons to have graced our humble existence are Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

The oldest man to win a grand slam and eight singles Wimbledon titles to his name, Federer is still considered an unstoppable force.

And his eternal rival, Rafael Nadal, is a god on clay. He has 98-2 record on the clay-court. On head-to-head counts, Nadal leads over Federer having won 23 of the 37 matches that the two played.

However, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal teamed up for the first time to play doubles together at the Laver Cup on Sunday, September 24.

The duo swept the four grand slam titles in 2017 and the fans could not contain their excitement watching the two legends on the same side of the court.

They beat Americans Sam Querrey and Jack Sock 6-4 1-6 10-5 to give Team Europe a 9-3 lead.

"We will always be rivals as long as we are active. And after this we will be rivals again," BBC quoted Federer saying. "But this was something very special. Knowing you can trust him in the big moments, seeing his decision-making, seeing his thought process, it was very interesting."

Nadal said that the experience was unforgettable and his dream of someday having Federer by his side was now fulfilled.
