Video: 'Lightning' Bolt warms up with 9.88-second sprint

Synopsis

Three-time World and Olympic champion Usain Bolt ran a blistering 9.88-second race to win the men’s 100 metres at the inaugural Jamaica National Racers Grand Prix on Sunday.

This is Bolt's second fastest time of the year.

Bolt finished ahead of Nickel Ashmeade (9.94s) and Yohan Blake (9.94s), assisted by 1.0 metres per second wind speed.

Former World record holder Asafa Powell finished fourth in a time of 9.98s.

Although Bolt, as usual, stumbled out off the blocks, he quickly righted himself and burst through the cluster to take the lead, to which he held on until the end.
