Bengaluru FC on Monday announced that midfielder Soham Varshneya has signed a contract extension with the club, committing his future to the Blues until 2029.
Varshneya's Rise Through the Ranks
22-year-old Varshneya, who featured eight times for the club during the 2025-26 Indian Super League and provided one assist, joined the club's Reserve Team for the 2024-25 campaign that finished fourth in the BDFA Super Division campaign and reached the Zonal Round of the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) that year, according to a press release from Bengaluru FC. He recorded 14 goals and 12 assists in 24 games across all competitions for the side and won the BFC 'B' Team Player of the Year for the 2024-25 season. He made his Indian Super League bow against Mumbai City FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on the final matchday of the League stage in 2025. He also made his national team debut for the India U-23s, having featured for the team in the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qualifiers in Qatar in September 2025.

Talking about his extension with the club, Varshneya said, "This club has always believed in me, and I believe in what we are building here. I'm happy, focused, and ready to give everything for Bengaluru FC."
Head Coach Pep Munoz echoed a similar sentiment regarding his midfielder's extension: "What I like about Soham is his understanding of the game - the way he reads situations, his movement, and his calmness on the ball. These are things you cannot easily teach. He's a hard-working boy in training, as well. I'm really glad he's extended his contract with the club."
