Pakistan’s Wahab Riaz is a troubled cricketer these days. In the recent Champions Trophy, although Pakistan won, Riaz was mercilessly smashed in the opening match, where he gave 87 runs in just 8.4 wicketless overs. Riaz even apologized to his fans for his dismal performance.
However, two years ago Riaz was a force to reckon with. One remembers Pakistan’s match against Australia where even a dangerous batsman like Shane Watson fell to his bowling.
But Riaz’s bad run continues, this time against Sri Lanka.
In an ongoing Test in Dubai Riaz took five minutes to bowl one single delivery. He took as many as five run-ups to bowl one legitimate ball. The moment was so embarrassing that Pak coach Mickey Arthur walked back to the dressing room, unable to watch any further.
