Bengaluru photographer Sujay Arya was apprehended by CID sleuths yesterday in connection with the PU question paper leak scam.
In May this year, CID sleuths had arrested the mastermind involved in the Karnataka Pre-University question paper leak racket, Shivakumaraiah, who ran a very secretive racket and was known only by his codename ‘Tomato.’ The CID had also held found that he was in touch with a private tutorial that they held played a crucial role in the paper leak.
Tutorial owner, Muralidhar and the above cited accused, Sujay are said to be close friends and the two were in reportedly in constant touch with Shivakumariah.
The kingpin disappeared as soon as PU question paper leak went viral but had contacted Sujay over the phone and these conversations drew the CIDs attention towards Sujay.
The accused photographer will remain in police custody till 9 September for further investigation, said Sonia Narang, DIG, CID.
