Nivin Pauly to play native Robin Hood 'Kayamkulam Kochunni'

Movies based on historical characters have been money-churners in Mollywood. 

Now, another film based on the historical character 'Kayamkulam Kochunni' is in the making and one of the most popular actors from Mollywood, Nivin Pauly, is all set to play the role. 

Kayamkulam Kochunni, a local bandit similar to Robin Hood from English folklore, is considered to be a messiah of the poor, who lived in Kayamkulam of Travancore state in the early 18th century.

Directed by Roshan Andrews, the movie is scripted by popular script writers Bobby and Sanjay. According to the makers, it took more than two years of research to shed light finally on the personality of Kayamkulam Kochunni. 

The film would mainly narrate the story of Kochunni before he turned into a highwayman.
