Kerala girl commits suicide, family says ragging killed her

An 18-year-old girl was found hanging in the bathroom at her house on Friday evening. Hailing from Kozhikode, Asnas was a student at MHES College of Science and Technology in Cherandathoor.
The relatives alleged that second-year microbiology student Asnas had complained of some dispute with the senior students. It was alleged that the girl committed suicide after seniors harassed her following an argument.
"Even the teachers sided with the seniors which resulted in the suicide," Thalauth, a relative said.
Police have initiated an inquiry and the body will be handed over to relatives after the post-mortem examination on Saturday.
