Kerala CM Pinarayi to meet Modi at Race Course

Synopsis

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will meet President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice-president Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday in New Delhi.

 

Principal secretary Nalini Netto is also accompanying the CM.  Vijayan ahead of his visit told the media that it only a courtesy call. 

 

The Chief Minister will meet union finance minister Arun Jaitley and home minister Rajnath Singh. The meeting with the Prime Minister is arranged at his official residence at 7, Race Course Road, at 4 pm. 

 

He will also meet Kerala cadre IAS officers who are on deputation in Delhi. 

 

Vijayan has stayed away from power politics in the past 16 years and with this meeting he aims to rebuild his rapport with national leaders. This is only a friendly meet and there is no special agenda for the visit, officials informed reporters. 

 

The Chief Minister will return to Kerala after attending the CPM Politburo meet to be held on 29 and 30 May.
