Karnataka bundh on 9th September
Synopsis
Karnataka Bundh is observed on 9th September. More than 800 Kannada organisations have supported for the Bundh. Vatal Nagaraj held a press meet and announced the bundh.
The Kaveri water issue is rising in Karnataka. The decree of Supreme Court has enraged the farmers of Mandya and Kannada activists. Consequently one day bundh is called across Karnataka on 9th September from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
In the press meet Vatal Nagaraj, President of Kannada Chalavali Vatal Paksha and a kannada activist said that they are not obsessed with bundhs and protests, but is situation has been created inevitably. He has also supported today’s Mandya bundh and requested the north Karnataka people to support for the Karnataka Bundh.
He requested the Supreme Court to see the reality of Karnataka before announcing its judgement and alleged that Tamil channels are broadcasting false and baseless information with regard to Kaveri Water.
“The state should file an appeal questioning the judgement of Supreme Court. If the situation continuous both Bengaluru and Mysuru will not obtain water even for drinking. We are not slaves or bakras to agree to every word of Supreme Court as its judgements are often unimplementable ” he said.
Around 800 organisations, including Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce have supported the bundh.
