Karnataka Bandh on Saturday: What’s open, what’s not?

Synopsis

 

Let us have a look at the organisations taking part in the protest, which services will be available and what will be closed on Saturday 

Closed

  • Schools and colleges in Bengaluru will be closed
  • Private Schools Administration Associations are supporting the bandh
  • Pre-university lecturers plan to join protests
  • State Government Employees Association support the bandh
  • Kannada film fraternity (Sandalwood) has announced that no shooting is scheduled for Saturday
  • Theatres will not screen films and malls will be closed
  • Grocery shops, industries, commercial complexes will be closed
  • No business at the Yashvanthpur Agricultural Produce Market Committee
  • 1,500 associations - including Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, Jaya Karnataka, Vatal Party  - to support the bandh
  • KSRTC, BMTC buses will not operate
  • Autos and cabs will not be available

 

Open

  • Hospitals
  • Milk, newspapers, medicine and ambulance services
  • Police services
  • The Bengaluru Metro will be operational
