ISIS link: Kerala police arrests one more from Mumbai

Synopsis

Kerala police, on Friday, arrested one more person, suspected to have links with Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organisation, from Thane in Maharashtra. The man is suspected to have played an instrumental role in recruiting Kerala youth to ISIS.

The arrested is identified as Rizwan Khan and the police, with the help of Maharashtra ATS, nabbed him from his residence at Kalyan on Friday. 

 

Reports state that a case has been registered against him in Kerala in connection with the recent man missing cases. He will be taken to Kerala for questioning and to inquire about his counterparts. 

 

On 21 July, Kerala police and Maharashtra ATS has arrested another person, identified as Arshi Qureshi, from Navi Mumbai. He is allegedly associated with Islamic Research Foundation of controversial preacher Zakir Naik. 

 

A case was registered against him in connection with the missing of 21 youths from Kerala, and it is suspected that at least some of them have joined the ISIS.
