How safe is Paytm? Kerala woman duped  ₹ 60k through Paytm

An employee of Kerala Central University was in for a rude shock the other day as she realised that ₹60,000 had been withdrawn from her account through Paytm, one of the most popular mobile wallet services in the country, without her knowledge. 

 

On December 16, Bindu, an employee of the University received messages in her mobile stating that Rs.60,000 had been withdrawn from her account in three equal instalments. She was not Kasargod then. After returning, she checked with the bank and realised that she had been duped.  

 

Primary investigation proved that the money was withdrawn from Kolkatta. The Cyber Cell of Kerala Police has started an investigation into the fraud.
