Hindu fundamentalists attack 4 Dalits for eating beef

Synopsis

The incident took place on July 17 when 30-40 right-wingers allegedly attacked a Dalit family for eating beef in Chikmagalur, a district in Karnataka.

 

Four Dalit youths, including a physically challenged person, were reportedly beaten up by members a right-wing Hindu group, Bajrang Dal, according to a News18 report.

 

The members of Bajrang Dal also threatened the victims with machetes (a knife).

 

The accused have been currently released on bail. The victims, however,  have demanded a probe under the SC/ST Atrocities Act.
