Heavy rains expected to lash Karnataka for two days

Synopsis

A vortex in Chennai has caused downpours in various parts of Karnataka on Tuesday. Weather experts say that this is merely a prelude to further heavy rains in Karnataka in the evening.

 

 

As per the report, the coastal side of Karnataka - including Mangaluru, Udupi and Kasaragod - will experience showers in the next 48 hours.

 

Weather reports also stated that the southern parts of Karnataka and Uttara Kannada district would experience more torrential downpours than the rest of the state from August 31 to September 2.

 

Heavy rain is also expected in Hassan, Kodagu and Shivamogga districts.

 

On Tuesday, Chitaguppa of Bidar district received 5 cm rain. Manki in Uttara Kannada district, Mudigere in Chikkamagalur, Shravanabelagola in Hassan received 4 cm rain. Subramanya, Agumbe, Shirali, Bagevadi, Indi and Afzalpur recorded 2 cm rain.

 

Honnavar, Bhatkal, Mundgod and Sirsi also received a good amount of rain yesterday.
