Murugan approached her on Tuesday evening, hoping to rekindle their affair but Revati declined the approach.

An enraged Murugan attacked Revati, who slapped him in defence. The murderous Murugan then beheaded her with a pair of garden scissors.

After the incident, Murugan headed to Majestic bus stand, but eventually surrendered to the police.

“I was in love with Revati and she too loved me. But she was neglecting me, was moving away from me. She slapped me even though I had not done anything to her. I was angry with her behaviour and so I attacked her,” said Murugan.
