CPI Raghavendra suicide: Family alleges sand mafia pressure

Synopsis

Raghavendra had pressure from his higher officers in connection to sand mafia, brother alleged A special team under Kolar Deputy Superintendent of Police, Abdul Sattar will probe the case

 

Opening up about Raghavendra’s career challenges, his brother Manjunath has filed a complaint stating that a sand mafia is connected to the CPI’s death.

 

Though the primary investigation into the case makes it look like suicide, it is not so, but was murdered, the complaint states.

 

“Raghavendra had pressure from his higher officers when he had arrested a sand mafia leader Sardam. This arrest followed various actions of revenge. He frequently got calls threatening his life.”

 

In another shocking revelation, the complaint also states that Raghavendra was being pressurised by the staff of his office, who indirectly had joined hands with the sand mafia.

 

Currently, Kolar Superintendent of Police, Divya Gopinath as formed a special team to probe the death. Kolar Deputy Superintendent of Police, Abdul Sattar leads the special team.
