Another controversy grips Mahesh Babu’s Brahmostavam

Synopsis

A lele...yereg madime (O ho, whose marriage is it?) is a Tulu song and the makers of the Telugu film Brahmostavam have been accused of using the song without prior permission from the original creators.

The song was written by Shantaram Shetty and first aired in Siri Channel in 2007. This became an instant hit and is considered a very popular Tulu song.

The Siri Channel team has now claimed ₹25 lakh as compensation for using their song without prior permission and has asked the director Prasad V Patluri and actor Mahesh Babu to tender an apology letter.

Of course, a Tulu song in a Mahesh Babu-starrer movie is a matter of pride, but only if it was used after taking permission.
