The reason behind allotting separate gates for pregnant women at Namma Metro stations

Bengaluru: Now, pregnant women can use hinge gates at metro stations, if they think that existing gates are unsafe. Many pregnant women have expressed concern that they risked gates closing on them while walking through, as the automatic gates open and close rapidly in order to avoid multiple entries with one ticket. The pregnant women feared that they could suffer injury if the automatic gates closed as they passed through. The hinge gate installed for emergency purposes can be used by pregnant women after displaying tickets at the usual gates.
