Lok Sabha election will be held in Karnataka on April 18 and April 23. Here are complete details of the dates to file nomination, withdraw nomination, notifications and list of constituencies going for elections.
Bengaluru: Lok Sabha election will be held in two phases in Karnataka on April 18 and April 23. Notifications for the first phase has been released on March 19 and the candidates can start filing nominations from today.
Elections will be held for 14 constituencies each in two phases.
Constituencies in the first phase:
Udupi - Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Dakshina Kannada, Chitradurga, Tumakuru, Mandya, Mysur, Chamarajanagar, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru North, Bengaluru Central, Bengaluru South, Chikkaballapur and Kolar.
Constituencies in the second phase:
Chikkodi, Bagalkot, Belagavi, Vijayapur, kalaburagi, Raichur, Bidar, Koppal, Ballari, Haveri, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Davanagere and Shivamogga.
For the first phase of election that is slated on April 18, the last day to file nominations is March 26. The nominations will be reviewed by March 27 and March 29 is the last date to withdraw nominations.
Election for the second phase will be held on April 23. Notifications will be released on March 28 allowing candidates to file their nominations. The last date to file nominations is April 4 and the same will be reviewed by April 5. Last date to withdraw nominations is April 8.
Counting of votes will start on May 23 and the results will be announced on the same day.
BJP is fielding its candidates in 28 constituencies. According to seat-sharing agreement, Congress will field 20 candidates and JD(S) has got eight seats. BSP will also field its candidates in 28 constituencies.
