McDonalds are now planning to launch a breakfast burger, and a South Indian one at that in India. Excuse us, while we collectively retch in a corner.
This is not the first time McD’s has offered weird burgers on their menu. This is what they have introduced around the world to localise or shall we say “glocalise” their menu.
Name: Mashed Potato Beef Burger
Where: Japan
What’s in it: Beef patty, bacon and generously topped with mashed potatoes.
Why it’s weird: Soggy much? Also, this combination makes for a delicious casserole.
Name: Rice Burger
Where: Philippines
What’s in it: It’s not so much what’s in it, as what holds it together.
Why it’s weird: Fried rice buns instead of regular buns
Name: Prosperity Burger
Where: Malaysia
What’s in it: Beef or chicken slathered with peppery sauce among other ingredients
Why it’s weird: It’s a meat with an identity crisis; as in, it looks more like a spare ribs than a meat patty, not sandwiched between buns.
Name: Nurnburger Burger
Where: Germany
What’s in it: Famed bratwurst sausages
Why it’s weird: Because it’s sacrilege
