Naga police officers cooked cats, dogs and langurs in their rooms

  • Two Nagaland Armed Police constables have admitted having cooked cats, dogs and langurs during their stay at the Delhi Police Institute


The two constables – V Awomi and Vi Toho – revealed that it was normal in their culture to cook and have cat meat.

 

Under the ‘Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act’ and under IPC sections 428, 429 their action can be called a criminal offence.   

 

Iron rods, wood planks with dried blood on them were also found in their rooms.

 

The constables used to hunt down animals from the forest campus. A disciplinary committee has been made to look into the matter.
