After eight months, the chief minister of West Bengal visited Siliguri on September 28 to hold administrative review meetings with officials of five districts in the northern part of the state. On the first day of the meeting at Uttarkanya in Siliguri, Mamata emphasised the importance of working in the public interest.

The chief minister visited North Bengal after eight months. In the administrative meeting at Uttarkanya in Siliguri, Mamata Banerjee prioritised public works. She threatened the administrative officials and said that strict action would have to be taken if work is delayed. The chief minister enquired about the details of the work done in each office.

Analysing the work record of the administrative officers, Mamata said, “100% of the work should be done. Pensions cannot be withheld. I will take strict action against those who are not working properly.”

Mamata warned the administrative officials must finish the work within the next three months. She said, if necessary, the administrative officials should work on field. The chief minister instructed them to expedite the remaining work of the Labour Department and also resolve the land issue of the refugees.
